I have a rtf document on my mac that I need to send to someone using a PC with MS Word. I don't have Word on the Mac, so I copied this file to my Kanotix box to see if OOO would handle it. On the Kanotix side the rtf file becomes a directory with a .txt file and a bunch of pdfs that had been dropped into the rtf. Opening it in OOO only give me the text and placeholders saying such and such pdf goes here. I tried inserting, but that doesn't seem to work. Anyone done this? I also tried xpdf, but this looks like a viewer only and not a pdf editor, is there a pdf editor for debian? The end result either needs to be a doc or pdf file so that my associate on the PC can open and view it in all the glorious detail!

OK, I figured this out. Easier to do it on the Mac side. Just "print" file and choose PDF as the "devise". Produces a cross platform PDF.

Thanks,
Ron
