Titel: Screen Flicker after sleep

When my system (laptop with 2006-01-RC4) boots the screen is rock-solid, but if it goes into a power saving sleep mode, sometimes when I wake it up the screen flickers, and continues to flicker until I reboot. It's very annoying. How do I fix it?
On another note, when the live CD was shutting the system down, it began with a voice announcing, "initialting system shutdown." This does not happen after I installed to the hard drive, and I'd like to get it back, as an old Star Trek fan, I think it's cool. |
