          | Can someone help me to get my monitor Samsung 245B work in native resolution 1920x1200 under Kanotix?
 PS: I am not very familiar with linux, but I believe I need to tinker with the xorg.conf.

          | Hi JumpyLINUX,
 did you try typing "knxcc" on a console?

 (then display->resolution and restart xserver, i think)

 By the way: which kind of graphic card do you use?

 Laptop (Acer TravelMate 3004WTMi).

 I tried knxcc, but the closest I could get was 1600x1200@75Hz. I could not even select 60Hz which is the right frequency.

          | perhaps you can try out in livecd-modus following cheatcode at grub (simply add to line):

 Code:
screen=1920x1200 vsync=60

 if it works, you have two choices:

 a) test these cheatcodes at grub in your hd-install or
 b) have a look into the /etc/X11/xf86conf (live mode) which parameters are used and copy them to your xorg.conf file

 if it doesn't work, let me know
