| Using Kanotix 2005-04 live CD, either Kppp or pppconfig say I'm connected, but ping and browser cannot connect. However, installed Kanotix connects for ping and browser for both Kppp and pppconfig. Comparing chatscripts, ppp, and logs between live and installed; there is no difference. |

| Dialup is direct serial external modem, no ethernet. |

| I discovered that disconecting the ethernet connection solved the problem. I have a router that I'm only using to LAN with 2 other computers, not go out on the internet. |
